Remembering Adam Lindsay Gordon: An introduction to his poetical works

Description

To remember the life of Adam Lindsay Gordon, 150 years since his tragic death on 24 June 1870, in lieu of several planned commemorative events for 2020, it seemed an ideal opportunity to reintroduce Australia’s students to his poetry.

Initially, more than 30 booklets were distributed FREE to secondary schools and colleges in the south-east of South Australia and the western district of Victoria, where Gordon spent most of his short life in Australia. Booklets were also be sent to Brighton in South Australia, as well as Ballarat and Brighton in Victoria, where Gordon and his wife had lived.

For a more comprehensive biography of his life and works see Gordon of Dingley Dell: The life of Adam Lindsay Gordon, poet and horseman.
